If you witness racism or aggression, please contact me ASAP at the email below, or message me on Facebook.
We also take submissions for blog content! If you are, or know of, a Native poet, essayist, storyteller, artist, or if you'd just like to submit an editorial, please visit the Contact Us section, or shoot us an email at urbanheyoka@gmail.com

Let us introduce ourselves.
Daniel Thomas is a Native inmate at a federal supermax facility. He also addresses modern Native issues, health and fitness, and to encourage others to reconnect with their language and spirituality.

A Message from Daniel:
The lost children. A riveting tale of betrayal, revenge, heroism, also the severing of the people into Western and Eastern Branches. Involving mythical battles and a band of indigenous children mistakenly abandoned who taught themselves to survive while forsaken on the prairie. Although the tiny tots passionate enough to fight the elder kinsmen who lost them, they both in the end agreed that if any tribe ever called for help, every other tribe was duty bound to answer. Therefore it was concluded by the old man at the lodge fire that the great nation of the seven council fires was divided into separate nations. Yet each nation would forevermore remain loyal to its cousins. These smoke signals are my RSVP to NDN Country. Although what I share is from an urban Heyoka with an ancient bloodline, my understanding blossoms from traditional philosophy, ideology and is supported by native mythology. Please don’t construct it as being represented of all indigenous beliefs, knowledge, and practices. The perspective and experiences shared here are intended to help increase understanding, bridge cultural differences, yet also highlight similarities. In conclusion, you don’t have to agree with everything I said, but what I offer already belongs to the people. I'm just doing my best to make it available. No one man can do everything, but everyone can do something. Sincerely yours, The Editor-N-Chief
